South Africa Masters Preview

Jacques Kallis and his men will face a tough challenge in their opening game. They will take on a team that has already played a game and knows the conditions well. Kallis would like to see his batsmen take advantage of the conditions, as they lack strength in the bowling department.

Alviro Petersen and Hashim Amla will look to provide a good start in this game, as the Sri Lankan bowlers struggled in the last game. Jacques Kallis must steer the innings at No. 3 and add runs with Jacques Rudolph and Jean-Paul Duminy. Jonty Rhodes will look to add quick runs in the lower middle order with Dane Vilas and Vernon Philander.

Makhaya Ntini will look to bring his experience to play and do well in the early overs along with Eddie Leie. Garnett Kruger and Vernon Philander must play a crucial role in the middle overs to keep the scoring under check. Jacques Kallis and Duminy add depth to the bowling attack.

Sri Lanka Masters Preview

Kumar Sangakkara and his men ran India close in their opening game, losing by only 4 runs. It was a good show from the team during the run chases as they aggressively went after the big total. Sangakkara would like a better show from his bowling attack to earn their first points in the tournament.

Kumar Sangakkara will look to lead from the front and deliver a strong start in this game with Upul Tharanga. The middle order will look to build big partnerships, and the team expects to run from Lahiru Thirimanne, Asela Gunaratne, and Chaturanga de Silva. Jeevan Mendis batted well in the last game and will look to add quick runs with Isuru Udana.

The bowlers struggled in the last game, and the team will need better spells from Suranga Lakmal and Isuru Udana with the new ball. Nuwan Pradeep and Chaturanga de Silva leaked runs in the middle overs, and they need to execute their plans better. The team would like a good show from Mendis and Gunaratne in the supporting role.

We expect excellent weather conditions in Mumbai. The wicket will be flat, allowing batsmen to play their strokes freely. Bowlers don’t have much room for error on this wicket, with the average first-innings score of 156 runs. The team batting first will need 180 runs on the board to feel safe.

SAM vs SLM Pitch Report

Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, is a good venue for the batters. Though the wicket can surprise them with its dual-paced nature, they have done well. Fast bowlers rely on their variations to earn rewards on this surface. It has been a happy hunting ground for the spinners as the ball can turn sharply.

Toss: To Bowl

The side chasing always has an advantage on this track. The surface gets flatter as the game progresses, and bowling gets tougher in the evening, with dew playing a role. The side winning the toss would look to bowl first on this wicket.
